The Joy of the Winter Seas of Denmark

It was a cold and beautiful winter day.

I had my parents-in-law visiting and we went for a walk by the sea. It felt like I had been suddenly whisked away into another world – another planet … The sea was dressed in the most fascinating shawl, made of circling plates of ice, glittering in the sun! And the birds! So many different birds, skating and see-sawing, all the while crying and chatting together in the most spectacular way!

I was so fascinated that just had to be stay there until dark. My parents-in-law, truly the most patient people I know of, stayed there with me by the freezing sea for as long as they could. But at last, they went home together with my husband, to thaw out. 😉

But I believe that the result, as I present it here, will prove well worth the effort. Please enjoy the best of the Danish winter with me, and may its beauty fill your heart with joy!

    1. Thank you, Endless! 🙂 Yes, “enchanted” is quite the right word 🙂
In some places there were open water; elsewhere the cold had formed plates ice which moved back and forth on the shallow waves. As they bump into each other, a sparkling, upraised rim forms… ❄️
Have a beautiful weekend, my friends! 😊💖
