Do you want to lock your love?

Do you want to lock your love?
Md. Arif Hussain – “Do you want to lock your love?”

In France, indeed, they had to remove the locks, to keep the bridge from breaking under the weight of all that love!!
But, seriously – looking at the photo, it really hit me!

… Do we want to lock our love? To imprison our feelings? Or should they soar free and wild into the winds of the world?
Do we keep them safe? Or do we let them grow?
Some of the most profound choices we make in life – locked in these photos…

    1. Emotions are like the sea – they well up from the deep, eternally in motion, and they shape and mould the land… and when we lock them up, we create a swamp in their place… 😉

Thank you so much, dear Amanda, for your thought-provoking comment 🙂 🙂
Have a wonderful Sunday, dear friend – full of love!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

      1. You said it, Elena. When we lock them up, we create a swamp. We can allow them to come, even sit in the swamp for a while, but then with some negative emotions, we must allow them to pass. It is almost a conscious moment to let them pass, do you think?

        1. Heh! I would like to think so! But … well … I do have a small, occasional problem with my temper 😀
(I almost always remember to say ‘sorry’ afterwards, though! … 😉 )
Can I wish you a beautiful and tranquil Sunday, dear Amanda? 🙂 🙂

          1. As for your temper, Elena. No one is perfect, least of all me! We can see these sides of our personalities as opportunities to practise and to learn rather than a problem.

  1. Thank you very dear friend.
I really like this idea and it looks beautiful and it is filled with memories.
Indeed, it is sad to know that the locks are removed from the bridge in France.
    Best wishes.

  2. Indeed Chere Elena your reflection is very fair. How this object symbolizing confinement could be chosen to show his love to someone. I do not know. Feelings cannot be imprisoned. Thank you for choosing my photo to illustrate your message. I wish you a pleasant weekend

    1. Indeed, dear Florius! The mind – and cultures! – moves in mysterious ways 😉
But once the concept was born, it caught fire amazingly quickly – and now we find those “locks of love” all over the world! 🙂 🙂
In a way it resembles the rings we exchange – as I believe the idea is that the key to the lock is thrown away as well, leaving it locked for all eternity… 😉
Blessings and best wishes for a truly beautiful weekend, dear Florius! 🙂 🙂 And thank you for letting me use your great photo, my friend! 🙂 🙂
